Therapy works by helping you identify the root cause of your symptoms. It equips you with tools that target your specific needs which can include techniques to effectively manage negative recurring thoughts, problematic emotions, and challenging relationships. During sessions, your therapist will help you identify your areas of focus and work with you to develop strategies to help you reach your goals. This means you can achieve better emotional regulation, improved communication skills and an increased capacity to handle challenges.

After introductions, your therapist will discuss the counseling relationship as well as your rights and responsibilities as a client in treatment. Your therapist will then invite you to discuss the challenges that have brought you into therapy. Afterwards, you and your therapist will work together to create a workable treatment plan that is geared toward helping you become unstuck and get you moving toward those dreams that you may have once thought unachievable.

While we understand that life happens, we would like to know as soon as possible if you will miss a session. A minimum of 24-hours of advanced notice is preferred. If you miss a scheduled appointment, or cancel with less than the minimum advanced notice, a missed appointment fee equal to the full amount of a session will be charged to your account.

There are a few ways you can schedule an appointment to see a therapist at Adaptive Transformation Counseling.

It’s common to question whether your situation warrants seeking therapy. If you’re experiencing persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, stress, or facing challenges that feel overwhelming and interfere with your daily life, counseling can be beneficial. It’s also for those looking to understand themselves better, improve relationships, and work on personal growth. I invite you to schedule a consultation to discuss your concerns and how I can assist.

Your first session is about creating a comfortable space for you to share your story. It’s an opportunity for you and me to get acquainted, discuss what brought you to therapy, and establish your goals. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with; this session is primarily for building trust and setting the foundation for our future work together.

Typically, each counseling session lasts about 50 minutes. However, this can vary depending on the type of therapy and your specific needs. I strive to make each session as effective as possible, ensuring that you have the time you need to discuss your thoughts and feelings thoroughly.

Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of my practice. Everything discussed in your sessions, as well as your personal information, is kept strictly confidential in accordance with professional ethical standards and legal requirements. I only break confidentiality in very specific situations for safety reasons, which I’ll explain during our first session.

The frequency of therapy sessions varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some clients benefit from weekly sessions, while others may meet less frequently. This is determined collaboratively between you and me, taking into consideration your unique situation, objectives, and how you progress through therapy.
